5* Brilliant tourist attraction. Gorge caves climbs and walks. Excellent place to do some rock climbing. The Gorge is almost 140m deep, formed by flood over 1 million years ago. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Lots of tea rooms and gift shops.

Longleat Safari Park

5* Great all year round. We went at Christmas for the festival of lights which was brilliant.

World Horse Welfare.

3* Visit the horses in this charity run centre with walks through the local country side.  FREE

Fleet Air Museum.

There are many pubs and eateries in the area for you to explore and discover below are a few of our favourites.

 

1. The Castlebrook Inn.    Just 2 doors away.          No need to book.    Tel: 01458 448902

Children’s playground, skittles alley and good pub grub. Just a 1 minute walk and friendly service. This looks tiny when you walk in but there is a restaurant out the back.

 

2. Kingsdon Inn.     Kingsdon, Somerton TA11 7LG    Best to book             Tel: 01935 840543

Our Favourite, the food is to die for especially the home-made sticky pudding.

Food served till 9pm. Monday night special price for 3 course meal. Fantastic food.

Pub restaurant and hotel.    Selection of Gins.    Open style pizza kitchen. Good for pizza and burgers with locally sourced food.

 

4. Devonshire Arms.         Long Sutton, Langport TA10 9LP                               Tel: 01458 241271

Superb service and great menu. Well worth the 15 minutes’ drive to get to. On a tiny village green. Fantastic old building completely refurbished.

We recommend: Thursday night is Tapas night. 3 tapas for £10   House wine £10 prices vary.

6. Clarkes Village at Street.  A designer shopping haven, only 3 miles away which has quite a few restaurants and eateries such as:

Pizza Express, Gourmet Burger, Pret-a-Manger, Frankie and Benny’s. The is also The Bear Inn in the high street which is a large pub restaurant with garden.
